The “M” Word: The Energy of Money & Tithing
On March 5th, we discussed how money is simply a form of energy, and we have a choice about the beliefs we have about it. Then we addressed the first law: Tithing. This law can bring up nervous energy for many people. Some think churches just want to take their money – “After all,” they think, “God doesn’t need my money.” In truth, tithing brings you into the lavish flow of giving and receiving of God’s abundance in all areas of your life. I shared stories with you about how tithing and trusting in God, as your source, transforms lives.
And I shared the passage from Malachi 3:10: “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” (NSRV)
I invited you to accept the challenge to tithe 10% of all money that comes to you and put God – and your faith — to the test that God is your source of abundance in all areas of your life. I left it to you to decide whether you would accept the challenge for a week, a month, six months, … whatever time frame you were willing to commit to. I’m taking the challenge. Will you join me?
